Aeterna Noctis presents an extended gameplay

Aeternum Game Studios has released an extended gameplay of more than15 minutes to show more content about what their game has to offer. The new gameplay allows to appreciate more of the Ascension Cave and goes further into the game mechanics, so the viewers could see more about de level design, movement controls and game features. The decisión of making a new gameplay was a consequence of the good reaction from press and gamers all over the world then Aeterna Noctis was officially announced at PlayStation Talents: The Moment.

One of the most important features revealed during the extended gameplay was the levelling system. Aeterna Noctis has a skill tree where the player chooses the upgrades for the King of Darkness through three separate paths: melee combat, survival attributes and magic abilities. Each one of these ramifications allows a deep degree of specialization but at the same time, are not mutually exclusive. Players are free to upgrade their character as they want.

The extended gameplay takes place at the Ascension Cave, and introduce a new mechanic to the viewers, the mission system of Aeterna Noctis. The video shows how the King of Darkness talks to an NPC that gives him an important task in order to proceed through the story. He must go deeper into the cave and recover and important ítem. What follows is a fast-paced section pack-full of combat situations and platforming. The character makes his way through different sections of the area until he faces a powerful and huge creature.

This final encounter serves as a boss fight for the gameplay and shows the complexity of the combat in Aeterna Noctis. The player will need to be accurate with their moves and hit at the right time to win the battle. This boss fight was included in the gameplay to appreciate more aspects of the art style and sound design of Aeterna Noctis. The entire battle is matching with amazing animations, particles effects and music.

We are Aeternum Game Studios

Aeternum Game Studios is a game development company recently founded by programmers with a large experience in multiple areas. Headquartered in Talavera de la Reina, Spain, they are currently working in their first game, Aeterna Noctis. Before starting the design of the game, the team members were involved in the development of pretty much any kind of software, including gaming projects for mobile devices. Soon after Aeternum Game Studios was created, the Development Team, hand in hand with the Art Department, started designing the very first concepts about what Aeterna Noctis would become.

Shortly more people get involved in the development of Aeterna Noctis. The project was growing up at a very fast rate, and the team decided to create a Kickstarter campaign to get the financial support needed to develop the game. The team finally created the first playable demo of Aeterna Noctis and the feedback from supporters and gamers was huge. It was at that moment, all members of Aeternum Game Studios discovered they had something very special in their very hands.

The rest of the story is well known. The goal at Kickstarter wasn’t achieved, but it didn’t stop the project either. Against the ods, Aerternum Game Studios hired more developers and decided to work on a completely new art style. All the assets, environmental details and character models were redesigned. The silence at their discord server and social media gave the impression the game was cancelled but not at all. They were just waiting for the right time.

After months of hard work, Aternum Game Studios finally show Aeterna Noctis has evolved at Playstation Talents: The Moment, including a release date. The reaction from the press, supporters and gamers was fantastic, and thanks to all the good feedback received from the gameplay presented at the event, they are currently working harder than ever in Aeterna Noctis.

Description

Following in the footsteps of the genre's great titles, 'Aeterna Noctis' aims to unite the best of each of them through reinvented gameplay packed with original skills and mechanics. At the controls of the 'King of Darkness' you must regain your power exploring the vast lands of the dark and beautiful world of 'Aeterna' anchored between life and death. The intense action of fast and skillful combat together with truly challenging mechanics will join an exciting and deep story in this adventure made frame by frame using traditional 2D animation.

History

Chaos, supreme god, creator of the universe and of all that it inhabits, decided at one point in his creation to make the world of 'Aeterna'. He populated it with different races and appointed wise rulers to show the way. Before long, these beings turned against their creator, grouping into two large groups and giving rise to war, death and hatred. This angered Chaos who, in his infinite immortality, took it as an insult to his magnificence and cast a terrible curse on the kings of both factions. He named them 'King of Darkness' and 'Queen of Light' and condemned them to fight each other until the end of days. Cursed, even death could not free them from their destiny since, even if they defeated their opponent, Chaos granted them the gift of immortality and they were reborn again to regain their power and continue their eternal war.
