The original programme featured six categories: Aeterna Mode speedrun (2h 50m), Noctis Mode speedrun (3h 15m), Aeterna Mode no-death (3h 30m), Noctis Mode no-death (4h), and no-hit runs in either mode. The original page did not list a winner for No Hit Noctis Mode.
Its rules required a complete public video on YouTube or Twitch, a post mentioning @aeternathegame with the appropriate #AeternaSpeedrun, #AeternaNoDeath or #AeternaNoHit hashtag, and a single award per player. The first qualifying entry was offered a signed Chaos Edition and a certificate, with worldwide delivery. Contact the studio to ask about the present status of any challenge or prize.
